Upper Potomac History documents the transportation networks, industries, and historic sites of Western Maryland and the surrounding region. Drawing on original photographs, maps, and archival records, this site focuses on the companies, infrastructure, and physical remains that shaped and built the Upper Potomac Valley.
The goal of this project is to organize and share historically significant companies and locations that are often overlooked in traditional histories. As new sites are visited and additional records are digitized, this site will continue to grow as a reference for researchers, local historians, and anyone interested in the industrial and transportation history of the region.
